Ciara Encinas is an Emmy Award–winning journalist and weather anchor with a passion for telling stories that connect communities. A proud graduate of Moon Valley High School and the University of Arizona where she studied broadcasting, Ciara started her career reporting in Yuma and Tucson, where she developed the experience that shaped her commitment to meaningful, community-focused broadcasting.
Now a reporter and weather anchor for FOX 5/KUSI in San Diego, Ciara continues to cover a wide range of stories. She was on the frontlines of the border following the developments of President Donald Trump’s border wall and an influx of migrants crossing into the region. She also covered the military, agriculture and water issues. In the desert, she learned the true power of storytelling and its ability to educate communities and influence productive change. When she’s not in the newsroom, she enjoys spending time outdoors and finding balance through Pilates and time in nature.
